Joh, which bands did you try to use it on?  20m and above or did you also
try 40 or 80?
Which bands were you having trouble with?

Common mode current is not constant along a length of coax.  Its intensity
varies continuously.
It is worst 1/4 wavelength (and odd multiples thereof) away from its source
and minimum 1/2 wavelength (and any multiple thereof) away from its source.
Keep in mind that you must not use the normal velocity factor when
calculating these lengths.

For that reason, it is important to know the frequency the problem is
occurring on.
