I once had an apprentice who would not listen. Sat on the soldering
bench, which had the residue of Hydrochloric acid on it...had nylon
undies on that lasted as long as it took him to strip them off his
bum....they melted lol....and he learnt another valuable lesson ;-) Gee
I miss those days, was realy great to watch an apprentice in his first
12 months grow and learn...and provide a laugh or two

Hydrochloric acid will clean copper very nicely. It is available from
pool
supply stores as Muratic acid (Muratic acid is just diluted Hydrochloric
acid). It can be nasty stuff though, so don't get it on your clothes,
skin,
small mammals (oops... that was earlier in the thread...), etc.
