That is pretty much correct, but there is no way to randomly question us. The positive thing about it is that it was posted on all the known reflectors for responses by those who cared. Perhaps its more of a vote than a poll, because only those who cared and were registered on a reflector replied. We all know votes may not follow polls but they are usually close except on certain counties in florida. But then again we can't really call it a vote becaues theres no results.

No but every time I go vote for a politician I dont get any results either, so then again it maybe it is a vote?

Bad humor aside.

Point being it does show the will of the people who care enough to speak up in hopes of change.

Be it one of 15 differnt issues. No one contest is going to suit everyone, but the Arrl divides the contests ,ore by spectrum rather than large variations of rules.

Three more contests with 3 dufferent sets of rules including all the most used spectrum might be in order. But we could start with less.

I like the real time scoring idea if there is a way for rovers and portables to play along.

I have also thought about passing messages along for points.

Ie a messge starts in Las Vegas and should be sent to Phillidelphia.
Each call involved in the relay would be given points if it made it ok.

Contesters:

Just a reminder that the survey is not based on a random sample. The respondents were self-selected, not randomly selected. Therefore, one of the biases in this survey might be the result of people with strong opinions responding and others not bothering to respond.

This is not a criticism of the survey. I just want to make sure that everybody, especially those who analyze or interpret it, understands that the results cannot be said to reflect the opinions of VHF contesters in general. The ideas generated from the survey, however, can be valuable as a starting point for discussion.
