In a former life I worked for Johnson Controls in their battery division .
Oem batteries are not the top of the line in quality, the good old lowest
bidder.

Keep them clean, full of water, and clean the terminals.

I like Optima batteries but I do not always like the price.

You would probably be horrified to know that in my Rover set up in my
pickup I have a #10 wiring harness that runs from my pickup battery into
the truck and then I run to 2 group 24 deep cycle batteries with a battery
booster.
I run both of the radios with the battery booster but I run all amplifiers
direct to the batteries. It's been working fine for years and I'm not going
to reinvent the wheel.
