What if there is a 'big bang' in an amplifier whose grids are grounded:
the zener bias diode shorts, one tube is kaput, however, -- {Twilight
Zone theme} --the vacuum checks normal yet when the kaput tube is
disassembled, there is no arc mark on the outside of the grid? Does
rauchian vanishing gas cause arcs who marks vanish?. . . Weird Science
indeed.
- Could the zener possibly have shorted from a burst of cathode current?
