One more strawman--no one has proposed giving the licenses away--what about the written tests? If your position is that they are too easy, what about all the Generals (100,000 plus) who can't pass the Advanced written?? Doesn't require any CW and gives you a LOT more HF spectrum. Are they stupid or lazy? I think not.
