If a high power mobile unit is the goal, wouldn't one of the new hybrid
vehicles make a good starting point?
Probably a nice 300V or so battery plus all the generator stuff in place.
It might slow down when keyed... and just maybe all that RF in proximity to
the microprocessors that control the car would by unwise. :-)

This seems to be a neat way to generate the necessary 8.5 kW (or 5 kW
for those operating QRP) input power for the HF amplifier.
Anyone on this forum with experience in this field?
