I prefer to put my money where it does the most good. My preferred money pit 
is towers and antennas of which I have several of both.

At legal power there is no need to use overkill unless the I*R losses are 
excessive. All my 240V runs are 20-35' and #12 works just fine. Now if I had 
a Gates 2.5kw BC rig out in the garage converted to 160/75M then Id probably 
run #6......
