Doug,
Write down what you do. I had to replace the HV meter resistors in my 6
meter Commander. They are under the RF deck along with the filter
capacitors! Commander was never big on serviceability. After that two day
adventure, I called it "The Amplifier From Hell".

Subject: [Amps] Commander HF-1250 problem
Thanks for the replies. I checked out the cord, plug and all other
obvious connections
that I could reach and everything is hardwired in place and nothing loose.
It was
suggested that it's probably a power supply component which I'm afraid is
probably
the case. They are very tough to get at so was hoping it was something
easy. One
other thing I found is some sort of solid state relay between the power
switch and
the transformer. Not sure how to test it so guess I'll start the research
on that
before I start tearing the tank apart.

Doug - N7NM
