I think the Emtron DX-2sp and DX-3sp will run that power all day long, but they are now going to be made in the USA and I doubt the regs will let them continue to run the gain. They are big, heavy and put out lots of heat. If the fans kick into high they can be kinda loud in a small shack. I have a DX-2sp and ran it in the shop for quite a while. Noise and heat were not really noticeable, but then I had it brought into the den which is only 10' X 10'. In here, heat and noise in high blower are a problem. They use Tetrodes and have a very clean signal if tuned up as a tetrode, rather than like a triode.

The DX-2sp is going back to the station in the shop, and the SS amp is coming in here.

Hi Dick: Thanks for the RTTY contest Q's over the years!

I owned a 2000A at one time not to mention many other amps over the
years. If you run it at 1500 watts RTTY contesting, it will over heat
after a while, about 10-15 minutes as I recall. You either let it cool
down or back off the power.

The only amps I have found that will truly do 1500 watts of RTTY
continuously are Alphas. I currently have a 9500 and in the past have
had a 91b. Any of the late model Alphas will do what you want. Either
avoid everything else or be satisfied with reduced power.

IMO the 9500 with its autotune memories and ability to handle SWR up
to 3:1 without a tuner make it the best RTTY contest amp available
with the possible exception of the Prometheus which costs twice as
much and only has a SWR range of 2:1.

Also, please advise what amps will generate 2,000 watts on 160-10 and
easily produce 1,500 watts continuous duty? (I'm a CW & RTTY contester)

Thanks & 73,
