Trick I use is to put on 1 pl259, and then measure the stub with the
259 at a very high harmonic of the frequency I want. For example, 20th
harmonic of 7.0 is 144 mHz. You will find the dip extremely sharp and
you can walk it down to where you will be off only a few kc on 7.

BTW, cut the stub a little long to begin with. ):>
