BILL:
If they want 5-6 khz so badly and demand 10 hours a day 365 days a year 7
days a week, then let them go and buy a ICOM IC-M700Pro or 710 or something
similar in the way of a proper MARINE HF RADIO, get a proper "COMMERCIAL
COAST STATION LICENCE" and let them have at it on any one of the available
HF Marine frequencies that are at best marginally used thanks to the advent
of satellite phones and cell phones. I can see if they want to have a net
like most others for an hour, once a day like most other less greedy folks,
but to DEMAND to have exclusive rights to an amateur radio frequency in the
20m band is a quick way to see our bands be given away to the commercial
users like many areas of the spectrum we are still fighting to keep......No,
we did not work hard to get our tickets to do this to our hobby..... for
about 100 people, I say go buy a marine SSB radio and have your net on a
marine allocated proper frequency for that sort of thing. Hey, I did, for
that same purpose to keep that out of our hobby.... there are too many
people who think they can run roughshod over our hobby and make demands like
that and some are getting away with it.... prime example: K1MAN and his
dribble..... I say enough of this and lets get back to the traditional
values of our great hobby and let's have some fun for a change.
