I see your problem. :)
The radios I suggested, the K3 and the TS590S, tested very clean for CW
bandwidth. No radio tested beats the K3, and the TS590S was second best.

The latest and greatest Flex 6000-series rigs tested badly for CW
bandwidth, but they've issued new firmware that is said to improve it.
If you have the bucks, buy a minimal K3/100 and add to it. You're going
to want the P3 eventually -- VERY useful for contesting (finding a run
frequency) and DXing. Also great on 6M and VHF monitoring for band
openings. AND it's a great test instrument -- 500x better frequency
resolution than my $5k HP spectrum analyzer.
