Because it would never happen. There is no one button to push and I guarantee you that people would use slack, Facebook and other means. Spotting is out of the bag. It has been since the 80's. Maybe we should just figure out that the what used to be will never be again.

wow.. think about it.. we would actually have to tune the radio, find the station, decode the station, use our brains, and fingers... enter the callsign AND the exchange.. unless using the auto full feature, that must be noted in the log, and tuning the radio again.. WOW again.. THINK.. it would actually level the playing field for the internet ... and that.. alone.. would make a whole lot less noise on this reflector about cheating with the internet or not.. or may be or sorta, coulda, shoulda, did, didn't.. or ....??

  Pretty much put it back where it should be.
