: 700 kc. Apparently he doesn't--it's there above 700; gone below 700.
: That _is not_ a characteristic of an arc. and anyway, line noise
: is stronger in the low medium wave and low frequency range, all other
: things being equal.

But it CAN be a characteristic of the receiver or anything else feeding it.
Take for example my Kenwood TS-570. Excellent receiver, co-ax fed for MF
and above, even receives AMBC down to the bottom, then suddenly, just as
though a switch is flipped or a feedline cut, DEAD from 500 KHz down. I
disconnect the shield of the co-ax and it's the hottest thing I've ever had
for below AMBC, but I could swear up and down radio reception stops at 500
KHz when the co-ax is connected, so, 700 KHz cutoff could be anything from
the receiver to the antenna.

That aside, how's the reception of broadcast stations below that? Does
another antenna or connector cut in at that point?

Since power line RFI is for the most part constant from "DC-Daylight", what
changes at the receiver site at 700 KHz?
