Yesterday Mike (W9RE) and I tracked down some RFI that's originating from
an Xfinity wireless router. The Xfinity name for this modem is XB3, but
looks like there are actually numerous model numbers for the XB3 model name
(Model Numbers: DPC3939, DPC3941T, and TG1682G).

Tracking down the interference was rather difficult as it was only being
received on 15 meters, and it pretty much looked like white noise on both
the RF spectrum display and RF waterfall display as well as on the audio
spectrum and audio waterfall displays when using AM mode with 4.0 KHz wide
filter. The noise was constant from approximately 20.5 to 21.5 MHz when
using a very broadband antenna (small terminated flag), and then it fell
off outside of this 1 MHz spread.

Wonder if anyone has encountered a similar problem with an Xfinity XB3
wireless router similar to what we ran into.

Note: this router does not use a wall-wart. The router has an AC line cord
that plugs directly into a 120 Vac outlet. On Monday the homeowner is
going to request a replacement router, and hopefully it will be a totally
different model. If the replacement router does not fix the problem then
Mike will test a toroid core choke as well as a corcom type filter on the
wireless router power cord.
