Quite likely.  

But what puzzled me earlier was how the Reflector allowed this mail
to go through?  Isn't rtty@contesting.com a "closed" reflector?

Or, is it sent with a space prepended; the Reflector then skips the
spaces, recognized the body of the address and replaced the spaces
with underscores?  Anyone in charge of the Reflector who we can ask?

Only geeks would use underscore(s) in front of their usernames anyway.
Chucking mail from all such senders is probably no loss :-).
