I remember back in the days of SPARK we had to CW ID on rtty but we sent
everything RTTY with just the ID, for the FCC, in CW.
Anybody else remember that ?

Subject: [RTTY] I had a reply in the contest from a fellow using cw for rtty
and it was awful
I don't know if he was using a keyboard to send the cw or actually using a
paddle/keyer whatever. Maybe he couldn't type or spell.
I finally asked him: "Are you using cw to send rtty" and he replied "Yes"
I answered him that I appreciated the qso, but it's terrible, not a single
word or serial number, even your call has come out the same all three times
you sent them.
I can't log you as I don't know what is correct....
I hope I didn't scare away a potential rtty contester, but I easily spent
more time trying to decode/decipher his sendings than if I had worked 10
stations.
The fellow I worked after him said...."your more patient than I would have
been"
I forgot to jot down the callsign...or I would have sent him a 'hope to see
you in the next contest...but may I suggest...' email.
If any of you ran into him/her (must be correct) please send it to me so I
can help put him on the right path.
Oh, and thanks to all who handled my fumble fingers today, for some reason
head, fingers and eyes were not in sync today.
