So that's it! I worked several stations in the WPX RTTY that had a weird
pace to the diddles being sent . It was sort of like a surge that would
turn on and then suddenly turn off again. Several characters, pause, some
more characters, pause then a few more, pause. What a PITA to listen to!
Why would anyone in their right mind want to consider using paddles to send
diddles instead of a keyboard? It may serve a purpose in an emergency
situation where no keyboard is available, but in a contest it is less than
useless. Just because the radio has some ridiculous functionality put into
the rig by the marketing department doesn't mean the owner has to use it!
