Okay guys I'm back and almost functional.
Jeff I got a note back from our Director, mostly positive. He's okay with
eliminating
the baud limit but not sure what to do about the bandwidth issue, might be the
same
thing you get. Mostly this thing needs to die and be replaced with something
else.
Dave you are correct on 97.221 and I've argued the point many times but you're
up against some of the same personalities we tangled with on the Digital list a
few months ago if you recall the incident. You sir hung in there longer than I
did and
did a wonderful job. I posted the RM on the 30MDG list and noted it was a
particular
threat to 30m. KE7ACY asked how it was a threat to 30m, I may have been a bit
rude to him but wasn't about to take the bait and go round in circles again.
I think we need to concentrate on stopping this RM and leave the Winlink fight
for
another day.

Ron

They're wrong. WinLink falls exactly under the description of automatic operation in
97.221:
1. there is no control operator present at the (Winlink server) station
2. The (Winlink server) station is responding to interrogation by a station under
local or remote control

Dave,
On this page, the winlink organization argues that they DO NOT fall into the
"automatic" category.
