What a *GREAT* message from Alex, to help convey a continued partnership in supporting the vast spectrum of RTTY systems that are in use across the world! With a global user community, there is definitely room for both Ford and Chevrolet (or Audi and Lexus)!

As a long time contester, I had been salivating with Chen, W7AY over the possibility of the development of a RTTY skimming system. He conveyed that there were several very capable programmers who were pursing this technology! And within the year, the first beta systems were announced and "tried out" on the air.

I second the motion by Alex, that Walter continue his development work on his system. Similar to WinTest, WriteLog, and N1MM+ (to name a few), a collaborative, competitive environment always helps push technology forward.

Thank you BOTH for your time, energy, and skills that have made RTTY contesting more enjoyable to the contesting community!

Hi Walter,

The new RTTY SkimServer can process larger band segments than your software, but it works only with the wideband, multiband radios, such as QS1R and Hermes. It does not work with ordinary radios. Also, it decodes only 45.45 Baud RTTY, and nothing else. For these reasons, your software will still be needed to decode signals the wideband Skimmer cannot decode, and to run on the radios the new program does not support. Please keep up your great work and do not put your system offline.

Hello Mark,

really nice news, indeed.
If so, my DCS-system (dl4rck.ham-radio-op.net:8000) is no longer necessary with the RTTY/BPSK skimmers, because of the very much better performance of
a full SDR supported system.
My system will going offline end of the year. Hope RTTYSkimServer will work
this time.

Many thanks to all RCKskimmer user for the great support and distributing
many digital spots over the last two years.
Please prepare your systems with the new RTTYSkimServer and support the RBN
as well as you did it for the Digital Cluster System DCS.
