CQ at the end when in RUN is the best.
Some use QRZ but QRZ is not a general call, it is WHO IS CALLING ME?
You should have heard someone calling to use that... so the S&P guy may still wait and lost time. Dont tell me you have use QRZ instead of CQ for 25 years... if so you were wrong all those years.
In RTTY use CQ at the end of your CQ

"The lost CQ", if it means the run station not adding "CQ" at the end of
their CQ macro, it's my #1 item.

Eg:
CQ RU XX1XX XX1XX

vs

CQ RU XX1XX XX1XX CQ

I agree since forever, believe me, with you Claude. Sorry David.

But, Claude, I would like to change it to use somewhat more appealing to me:

"{CR}TEST IW1AYD IW1AYD CQ ".

That sound like:
TEST IW1AYD IW1AYD CQ YWUYIQSOMENOISE

Shorter for SO2R, still effective for the SKIMMER as TEST is one of the understand token.
Last but not least, I have not to change it for any contest ...

I say CQ at the end because when I am RUN I couldn't have any clue of whatever is coming.
Any signal that was there could went away.
Any one that was already there will have the same chance to become the next as the one that just get into my last CQ.

I say CQ at the end because when I am S&P ... a CQ is a CQ no doubt. It says "I am free and willingly". QRZ could mean " ... there is an already coming in next ... not you just arrived on me" ...
Hope not to have made all that silly ...

Now let me introduce ...
Better, as I read also last time onto the 2014 Dayton Cont. Univ. presentation by Ed Muns, (the sound is) "... wait some seconds after you get the first call - if you listen a second caller/signal down. Try to catch up with a second call that's getting into. Then answer quickly to the first and memorize - in witchever mode you could do it with UR logger - the second. Ready to do a TU NOW with this last."
What's better? Honey, not.
