Feh.
I upgraded to N1MM+ late last year. The .mc files need to reside in the new
directory tree under Program Files. I've been copying them over from the
c:\N1MM folder as I need them. Since I am so freaking awesome, I do not need to
try anything out before a contest. Opened N1MM+, started a new log for
BARTSRTTY and off I go. I see that my CQ macro says CQ BARTG... so I figure I'm
all set
First QSO (S&P) and my sent exchange is TU 1 1. Apparently I was using a .mc
file that had last been used for the BARTG sprint. Thinking quickly, I decided
to emphasize that an idiot was in charge of my station by sending the time by
hand. In EDT, of course, since in my panic I forgot how to add 4 hours to the
local clock for UTC. Added the {TIME2} tag to my macro.
About 40 QSOs later, I'm wondering why everyone is sending RST since it isn't
required for this contest. Oh wait, that's the sprint. RST is right there in
the first entry box of N1MM, bigger than doo doo. Edited the macro file again.
When you behave like a moron, whether to put the serial numbers together or
interleave them with the time seems pointless. Like explaining calculus to my
dogs.
A couple things that did catch my eye:
- A Cuban ham's clock was one hour off. I thought it was a bit error so I hung
around and listened to his subsequent QSO's - they were all the same.
- A lot of times reported in the format of 00:01:02Z, which N1MM does not
completely like
- Several people sent their call once and my call twice in the exchange, but
only sent the serial number and time once. Of course, they were down in the
noise.....with QSB....

I also noted that quite a few folk were sending 001 1230 001 1230 as the
exchange, and thought it was a good idea.
However, I never did get around to changing my macro for the exchange, so I was
one of those that sent 001 001 001 1230 1230.
Next year, I will try and get this right!
I think that in the past, it was the "norm" to send it as 001 001 001 1230
1230, and any other versions of this were taken as being odd. but, times
change, views change, and it seems that I must too.
I have to admit that I did find it easier on the mouse when it was 001 1230 001
1230, so I can see the advantages of that.
What I did get confused with (and I saw this from several stations!) was
5990010011230
That was confusing, and I found that Writelog couldn't interpret it correctly.
