My guess is that you had U88SF as a string in the exchange field.
That does look like a callsign.
The parser is only so smart and sometimes given some
data string it does not do what you want it to do it
just does what you tell it to do.

I do not see huge resistance. This part of the program has been
like this for a long long time - I am guessing that no changes
have been made in the SS exchange parser for more than five years.
As I recall the last time it was worked on Tree made it much
more robust and made it work for many more combinations.
It is not a trivial thing to attempt to parse the contents of
the exchange window - it is one of the more amazing and cool
parts of the program and when you are logging guys in the SS
at 150+ an hour it is really cool that you can just add the
corrections on the to end of the current exchange field and
have the right things happen. But you do (at least I do) have
to think a bit about what I enter so that I do not get
strange results. Over time the things that I know work
correctlly everytime have become second nature to me and I
do not have to spend too many cycles thinking abut what I need to type.
But that go back feature is a good idea.
