If I'm not mistaken, Kendwood has such a device on the market at the present time. Works with their HF and VHR/UHF Handhelds.

Boat owners are familiar with such devices. Uniden, for example,
calls it a WHAM (Wireless Handheld Access Microphone). Costs about
$100 and lets you control most features of some VHF marine radios.

Shouldn't be too big a stretch to provide more features in a handheld
device to accommodate the expanded expectations of HF amateur radio
operators . .  .
