I want to thank all who responded, both on and off the reflector, for
my query abt OMNI VI and the Jupiter. The consensus seems to be KEEP
THE OMNI! (Which is sorta what I felt anyway!) If I take my other
inherited rigs and sell them (both a Hallicrafters SR-400 and a set
of Drake Twins in nearly perfect condition) and my own rigs (Corsair
I and Icom 751, I would probably be close enough to purchase a
Jupiter for a back-up rig and a SW receiver both. Or, I could just
keep them all and give them away to a deserving new Ham. I am not a
person that likes having too many "things" but I do not eschew
comfort and relaxation when warranted, either. The reflector is a
great way to get information about TT equipment, even if there's
sometimes too much information and not enough facts.:) Thanks for
the info.
