Could be, but not likely. The N4PY software has been in use on Omni
V's for quite a number of years, and I've found nothing in the various
archives linking lockup issues to that software.

I have, however, found a few references in the archives linking
glitches requiring reset to the original software.

I was doing the research leading up to the purchase (two weeks ago) of
a V.9 rig, which turned out to be Rick Williams's former rig. I have
too little experience to speak from that, and can only relate what has
appeared in the archives.
