Hi,

I have also just acquired an Omni VI Opt3 and I also had a great deal of problem with getting the radio to talk to a PC. After making two cables that would not work, I had a look inside the radio. What I found was that the way the internal wiring was a cross over cable was required as mine was connected up rx to rx and tx to tx.

I could not be bothered to alter the cable so I reversed plug 72 connected to the max232 ic on the logic board and it all worked.

The radio code is set in option three I think and default is 04.

By the way has your radio got a heterodyne on the PBT that you can hear on CW with narrow filters?

regards

Tim

Subject: [TenTec] Ham Radio Deluxe

Hello,

I recently aquired a Omni VI Plus and I wanted to know if anyone uses Ham
Radio Deluxe with it. I cannot get it to communicate with my computer. I
first tried using a DB-25 (Radio) to a DB 9 through a Belkin serial to USB
adapter, no luck. Next I wired a DB-25 to DB-25 thinking this set up did not
like the Balkin. Still no luck. I told HRD that I have a IC-735 as per the
manual.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Best,
