Just a short note to say thanks to David (Ke6YX) regarding
his comments on his Corsair II and his current rigs,
including the Omni VII. I certainly appreciate the reason
why you finally sold your Corsair II; and frankly that is
also a concern of mine. That concern would probably apply
to any of the older TT radios. I have giving it a lot of
thought lately: it is still money spent no matter how much
you might enjoy something. I have also thought of selling my
Triton IV since I do not operate two of anything at the same
time, but it has been a good radio up to now. Thanks also for
the comments regarding your Omni VII and the logic behind
your opinions. But that would be a tough financial decision
for me since the radio probably represents more potential
that I may ever need for my style of operating (brass pounding,
rag chewing most of the time with the occassional DX or contest).
I also owned the Kenwood TS 120 and 130; I used them for a number
of years that I was operating maritime mobile/portable from a sailboat.
Of course, I too have my Elecraft K-1 that I built (probably my one
and only kit project).
I also enjoyed Doug's (NN9S) comments on the Omni VII and the service
from the TT shop. One big reason that I own TT gear is the service
support and the "made in the USA" origin. 73s
