Amateurs come from all walks of life and have many different view points,
nice thing about our hobby. Having operated Communication Stations and a
ham for 70 yrs. No receiver or transceiver is perfect, but why sell "old
friends" ? They do not take up much shelf space unless of course one has
to use a spare bedroom for a ham shack and or maybe operating on a shoe
string.
Sometimes its nice to go back to an older model, IE: try keying a newer model xcvr at 65 WPM and up. The Corsair will do over 100 and be full QSK. Try that with newer models. Triton IV has a nice quiet receiver etc. Lyle W9FCX |
