Thanks. This is the actual user experience I was looking for. I have one and
use it several rigs, just never got around to hooking it up to the Omni.

I built an interface for my Icom and Orion II and use the CM500 for both

I've pretty much decided to try the Orion II first (and perhaps last). Some
things I have figured out (band data output to my amp), others...not so
much. One item of curiosity is the use of my beloved CM-500 with the Orion
II. I hadn't really taken steps to use it with the Omni VII, so I am
wondering if anyone has had any experience with the combination?
