Hey ! I have a can of THAT !! Rust-o-Leum black spray paint for
outdoor cooking gear. I got it at Lowes or Home Depot... probably the
latter ... and it works fine.

I spray it on, and then run my heat gun over it, which sorta melts the
paint into a sticky paste, and then I let it dry.... overnight... and it
dries hard and shiny the next day. Did I mention allowing it to dry
overnight ? Otherwise, it dries sorta rough and coarse, with a flat
black finish -feels more like powder coat in that case. Matches the TT
cases very well, I think.

I built a SO2R mic-phones-ptt-key switch in a metal case, like what TT
sells, and then painted it like that. I was pleased with it. Turned
out glossy and shiny, but you can use it like it comes, and it is closer
to powder coat like TT boxes or Palstar boxes.

I eventually rebuilt it in a slightly different size TenTec metal box.
You can see it on my QRZ photo...very small in the cent of everything,
but there it is nonetheless.
