When I became active again, in the mid-1980s, I picked up an analog
Century 21 at a hamfest (I thought it was "modern," and compared to my
DX-20 and NC-303 it was) and used it in the NTS traffic nets. One night
the NCS had me laughing out loud, alone in my shack. He'd sent me "up 9"
but suddenly changed his mind and said "No no, up 8"! As if I had any
prayer of telling the difference!
