If you put CoaxSeal directly on the connector - you'll never be able to
get it off. It'll make a mess of the connector and it'll be relatively
useless if you try to use it again. It's basically a one-time use.
If you put a layer or two of tape over the joint first and then the
CoaxSeal, then you can peel it all off in the future and the connector will
look brand new.
Commercial vapor wrap (i.e. db Products, Antenna Specialists, Andrew,
etc.) does not adhere permanently to the connector - it'll peel off - but
since most hams use CoaxSeal, you have to be more careful with it.
Be sure to put more tape over the vapor wrap and what you get is a
bombproof joint.
