Hi All,
It seems that several of us are having Rotator problems at the moment! I'm
still trying to help a friend trouble shoot his Ham IV. His control box
checked out fine as per the instructions in the manual. Also, checking the
cable from the ground, the rotator is within a couple of ohms of all the
specs in the manual as well. You can audibly hear the brake releasing [it's
only a 70' tower]. But no motion at all from the rotator.
Before we start climbing, or I should say, he starts climbing [I never could
stand to climb!!], is there anything else we should check? Several folks
have mentioned the starter cap, is there a way to check these? I don't have
a capacity check on my meter.
