Jim, I stongly suggest that you check with Press Jones at The Wireman, Inc. 
He has both 6- and 8-pole, polarized, weatherproof trailer connections that 
offer themselves nicely for rotor disconnects. 
http://thewireman.com/prodpix6.html  They are quite reasonably priced, too - 
only a fraction of the cost of some of the alternatives.

I second the notion that Cinch-Jones connectors - and, round Amphenol 
connectors, for that matter - don't belong in rotors or rotor cables that 
are outdoors.  Waterproofing is mandatory but very difficult to effectively 
achieve.
