I like the idea of using either 1/4 or 5/16 double braid and (whipping)
it around the the coax with the rope suspended from the center
insulator. I'd still run the coax up through the insulator and loop it
down through the insulator again so the open end would be pointed down.
This would allow for a much more gradual bend in the coax, yet help with
keeping the water out.
I much prefer the poly double braid which has very little stretch over
the metal grips.
If time and weather permit I may try doing that this afternoon, or
evening. I need to let the antenna down to do some pruning anyway.
