First, drill an ordinary (round) hole in the Carlon
box. Next, use a 3D printer to make a plastic washer
with a double flatted hole in it that fits the connector.
Finally, glue this washer to the Carlon box using
the connector as an alignment jig.
The distance across the flats is 5/16 inch.
If you have two type-F's side by side you can make
a double washer that is held in place by the connector
nuts, which eliminates the gluing. I have seen this
done with custom metal parts at HP. (In HP's case,
the connectors were BNC's).
A McMaster Carr 90339A033 washer is another possibility.
Chassis punches basically only go down to 3/4 inch,
with a few models down to 1/2 inch. Nothing at
3/8 inch.

Does anyone know of a tool that makes a nice hole in Carlon boxes for a
female F-connector with two flats that makes a nice hole so the connector
doesn't spin?
