I've made my own almost exactly like that as well except I don't use zip
ties for the coax ... I've never had a zip tie, even the outdoor rated
ones, hold up for even a full year under the UV that I get here in
southern Arizona at 5,000 feet elevation. I've never had any insulator
fail, though, and personally I don't see why anyone would need to buy a
commercially produced one.
But this one from DX Engineering looks pretty solid if you're willing to
spend $50 on it.

Hi Dave,
I make my own dipole center connectors. I use black cutting boards from a
kitchen supply store. They are about 12" X 8" X3/8". I think they are
polypropolene easy to cut and drill. Mine are triangles about 6" on a
side with holes in each corner and a so259 about in the middle. I use black
zip ties to hold coax tension from socket. The black cutting board and
black zip ties hold up very good in the sun.. Mine have been up about 10
years. Copper wire has been changed several times but the boards are like
new.
Good luck es 73

Subject: [TowerTalk] Dipole center connector
I am looking for a better dipole center connector better than the Budwig.
Any ideas?
The Budwig can pull apart.
