Hi Guys, The obvious place where the all band "rice box" may be OK IS in the 
ROVER situation where some compromises have to be made to fit the rig into 
the front seat of '83 Yugo "rovermobile"!! True on the mountaintop with a TV 
station transmitter on it, you're gonna get crunched. But you aren't there 
all the time. Using such a rig at a multiop mountaintop contest station 
would be quite frustrating I believe. There really is no substitute for a 
modern "crunchproof" HF rig and high dynamic range transverters!!

That being said, you get the rig you can get (afford) and do the best you 
can. The most important thing is to get ON for the contests even if you 
don't own the "ideal" rig!!
