I wish I had some reasonable-sounding advice. At least you were
scored in NTX instead of WTX, so you have that distinction. I'm the
top rover in ENY by dint of having gone out - I'm the only rover in
ENY who went out in the blizzard. There s a rover in WNY who used
only 2m and 432 and still trounced me even though I had 6m and he
didn't. He managed 2 more grids than I could. In addition, there
seems to be more VHF contest activity over there than there is here.
Anyway, even though I'm the top rover in ENY, it isn't because of
skill, it's a win by default. Not exactly something to crow about.

Even though my January score is so pitiful as to be downright
embarrassing, I turned it in anyway. Without logs there isn't solid
evidence of activity, I guess. One benefit to turning in such a
miserable score is that another potential rover may look at the scores
and think 'Why I can beat the pants off of THAT guy!' and jump into
the contest. More activity is better for all of us contesters,
especially us rovers.

By contrast, your score puts you in the top 15 in the contest! You
are a very strong contender and your score reflects that. How'd you
do 14 grids???? That alone puts you in a unique category!

Be proud of your accomplishments -- I envy you your score and salute
your hard work! You have something to crow about!!

There's always one other possibility: Find several friends and create
your own grid circling rover team. It might be fun to see several
groups competing in the rover team class! :-)

Good luck in August es 73 de Buck, KC2HIZ/r
