I don't understand the problem here.  You should have been able to CQ on
radio 2 while copying an exchange on radio 1.  What exactly do you mean that
you "could not find a way..."?  Exactly what did you try and what happened?
After you sent the exchange on radio 1, you should have been able to send a
CQ on radio 2.  You can't transmit at the same time on both, of course, but
it should work as soon as the first is done.  And like Barry said, if you
have the single transmit lockout set, the 2nd one will still go, but might
cut the first radio off short if it's not finished.  Either way, what you
described should work.
