The contest starts at 0000:00000000001 UTC, which is the first tick of
the clock on Saturday in UTC. For us in the USA, it is late afternoon
or early evening on Friday.
It ends at 2400 UTC on Sunday evening which is late afternoon or early
evening on Sunday for us..
It is therefore a 48 hour contest. The use is 2400Z is confusing since
that time does not actually exist.
