Larry,
Diversity reception with the two identical K3 receivers takes essentially no
extra effort. In diversity mode, the two receivers are locked together and any
tuning or bandwidth change made on one receiver is automatically made on the
other.
I have an external receiver antenna switch that makes antenna selection into
the two receivers easy. It allows the operator to instantly select:
- a 4-square into one receiver and one output from a K9AY Beverage switch
into the other receiver.
- one output from the K9AY Beverage switch into the one receiver and the
second output from the K9AY switch into the other receiver. This allows each
receiver to listen to a different Beverage. The K9AY switch also allows
selection of multiple Beverages.
- the same antenna into both receivers, effectively taking the K3 out of
diversity mode.
