That is a good idea.  Electrical conduit is gray, and would be good for
stealth.

Or if you need something smaller, something as simple as a piece of 1/2-in
PVC conduit with holes drilled in both ends, or some other piece of
non-conductive material that has the physical strength to not break under
the stress. Lots of good ways to skin this cat.
