I totally agree - My station isn't a heck of a lot different than your
first station - well, my antenna is a flat top at 31 ft, but not THAT
different - on a city lot too

Am I going to win my section? Heh - No - am I going to learn? You
bet. Look at NY state in the MAQP last year - it was only my second
or third contest. Do I plan on doing better this year? Yep - I've
learned what I did wrong (Besides technique - I have to get some
antenna - anything - for 80m - and I really need to get my code up to
snuff)

Am I going to be anywhere visible on the big contests - only in my
dreams - Will each year give me a baseline to better the next year?
Oh yes!

My next goal is to do exactly what someone here suggested - go watch a
big multi-multi operation - see what they do, so I know what I'm doing
wrong - Of course, from NYC that's a bit of a trip - but...
