A 2 kHz hole would be a HUGE hole for CW and still a big hole for
SSB. I've tried to fit into such holes many times myself. It seems I had
such a puny signal in SSB SS that I didn't bother anyone. I didn't get
any answers to my CQ's, either. :-(
Also, IMO there's no sense having a DX window here in mid-USA on 160 or 80
meters at noon. Very few people in these heah parts are going to work
much DX at that time on those bands. A friend of mine put up a bobtail
curtain some years ago and was working DX round the clock on 40, though,
in the middle of winter. As the days got longer there were times when he
couldn't work DX on 40. I never heard it on my dipole.
