<html><P>This is a different situation. The signal isn't lost, resulting
in random garbage scrolling the screen. The guy can
be plenty loud and there's a Mark or a Space there the whole
time. He CHOOSES to include numerous CR/LF in his transmission and
forces things off the screen. I can see having one at the beginning of
your exchange to help the receiving operator distinguish your data from the
noise, but a whole slew of these things in the middle of your transmission
makes no sense at all.</P>
<P>I always listen to the audio stream as well. To me, RTTY signals that
are going to print correctly sound a lot different than RTTY signals that won't
print or print incorrectly. Numerous times last weekend the screen would
display two or three different versions of the other guys call....but only one
of them "sounded" right. More often than not it was the correct call.</P>
