While it is true that operating from a DX location and suffering from jet
lag is indeed a factor that one needs to consider, the difficulty in
assembling such a remote station and the inherent technical impediments to
such an operation are probably much greater on balance. The network
latency is a given that cannot be overcome and the further away the remote
station is, the greater the network latency is.

I fail to see any reason to think that someone operating remotely would
have any advantage whatsoever.

I also cannot imagine that anyone operating remotely has any chance of
beating someone who is live at a similar DX location. The remote operation
will clearly be at a disadvantage.
