Can I try answer ?

Resonance occurs when the reactive part of the impedance is 0.
The VSWR is instead produced by any mismatch of real or/and imaginary part
of the playing impedances.

P.S. The message has been made as short as possible for clarity.
         There is a lot of room for explaining "details" and special cases,
         ....often good to confuse people.
